What is Spoofing?
Faking a sender's identity — a phone number, email address, or website — so a scam appears to come from someone you trust.
Caller ID and email sender names can be faked, so a call can genuinely display your bank's number and still be a scammer. That is why 'it came from the real number' is never proof. When money or credentials are at stake, hang up and call back on the number from the back of your card or the official website — never the number the caller gives you.
